In 2010, The AFFL was voted the best Fantasy Football league in America in Papa John's Fantasy to Reality contest, Judged by Matthew Berry, Antonio Gates and others.

In 2006, Mr. Raffi Lalazarian was in search of a league. A fantasy football league. He scoured the countryside for one that was committed to the highest standards of excellence and achievement. His search lead him to circumnavigate the fantasy football landscape; from the filthy shores of yahoo public leagues, to the East coast mock rooms of Espn. After a year of seeking, Mr. Lalazarian gave up.

Unable to find a league that functioned on creating a living entity of news, podcasts, power rankings and predictions, he set out to build a self-sufficient fantasy football kingdom, whose riches would be enjoyed by twelve specially selected teams.

These teams were selected by a vigorous four month process that included background checks on managers, their families and friends, as well as those members friends and families. Team owners were given a eight week course on stat tracker, as well as handed a thirty-two page, single spaced packet about the waiver wire that they were forced to memorize. Bar exam-like tests on trades and adding and dropping players were conducted to no end. Agility test that included a forty yard dash time while holding a laptop, and mouse clicking speeds were administered. Over 400 teams tried out, but only twelve survived.

He then hired a former operations manager named Frank Samian, discovering him as he lay against the outer wall of an abandoned old church. Together, they proceeded to lay the ground work for news articles and podcasts and what would later become a revolutionary way of playing fantasy football.

For the past four years, the AFFL has flourished into an entity twice the size of its origin, and it continues to grow. Leagues sanctioned by the AFFL are beginning to form across the globe. From Russia to Japan, all the way to ports of New Guinea, thousands upon thousands are beginning to enjoy the vision that Mr. Lalazarian had only a short four years ago. World leaders, Celebrities, as well as top intellectuals in a variety of fields have furthered the brand to a point of global awareness. Soon, the league will become a staple in the world community for decades to come.

In 2010, Commissioner Lalazarian approved the launch of the AFFL website in order to allow inner access to all the many fans around the world. He has also sanctioned the first ever AFFL super bowl rings to be made, as well as public companies to now sponsor teams. Public socializing sites such as Facebook and Twitter will also feature pages on teams and personalities in the league.

Though there has been controversy during some early years, the AFFL has moved passed the “pimp juice” scandals and “prostitution rings” that nearly caused its demise. The twelve current teams form the most competitive and image clean group that the AFFL has ever had, and the excitement has reached critical mass everywhere.
